Payment Processors
If you are in business on the internet and want to sell your own products, or sell other peoples products as an affiliate, you need to be able to accept payments.
That may sound obvious but I am still amazed at the number of people who ask me for advice on this subject.
You must be able to accept payments at any time of day or night, and deliver goods at any time of day or night if you deal in digital downloads.
These days it is unacceptable to customers to have to wait for a check to clear, or to wait for you to manually process a payment. They will simply go and find someone else who will deal with them immediately.
But don't get too concerned as there are a wide range of services available for you these days, all at very low cost to operate.
Here are a few that I use, in no particular order:
PayDotCom
This service is owned by Mike Filsaime, one of the internet's most successful marketers.
You can use it to sell your own products, allow others to sell your products as your affiliate, or to sell other peoples products as their affiliate. If that sounds complicated don't worry, it's not!
PayPal
Everyone has a PayPal account, don't you?
No question about this one, you need a PayPal account if you want to be able to sell your own products.
You definitely need an account if you want to be an affiliate for many programs as that is how most of them will pay you your commissions.
ClickBank
The same goes as for PayPal above, you need to have an account with them.
Not only can you sell your products through ClickBank, you can also find thousands of products to sell as an affiliate without having to create your own products
